What is Grading?

The Importance of Grading

Grading refers to the process by which an appraisal institution evaluates the authenticity and condition of a coin and assigns it a grade. Grading is an important element in collecting and buying coins, as it increases the reliability of the coin's value by objectively determining its value.

Coins submitted to a grading laboratory will be returned in a sealed plastic case (slab) with a label indicating the grade.

For grading, please contact us, the official NGC and PCGS reception center in Japan.

The major American grading companies, NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) and PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service), are world-famous, and coins certified by these two companies dominate the coin market.

World Coins Japan is a grading agency that accepts grading applications as the official Japanese reception center for NGC and PCGS .
